The farmer involved will receive government compensation for the destruction of his herd, but such assistance rarely covers a producer's costs, Mowat said.

The MCPA said it isn't the only group to have expressed concern about the issue. Parks Canada has also ignored recommendations from the TB Task Group, a multi-agency committee established in 2000 to co-ordinate a program to eliminate the disease, the farm lobby group said.
