"There's a myriad of social costs as well as economic costs this report has failed to address," said Robert Williams, a health sciences professor at the University of Lethbridge and prominent problem gambling researcher.
The study, conducted by HLT Advisory Inc., found gaming revenues are on par with profit generated by spectator sports, television, movies, books, magazines and performing-arts sectors combined.
