"This is a fascinating industry," says Gloria O'Rourke, vice president human resources with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA). "We are the largest employer in the province with 27,000 employees in hundreds of types of jobs. There are endless opportunities."

"Nursing will always be in demand, especially specialty nursing like critical care, ICU, emergency and dialysis," says O' Rourke. "There are also always vacancies for health care assistants."

"We take professional accreditation seriously. People must qualify and be registered, when applicable. And, all of our jobs, whether or not they are directly related to patient care, are caring occupations. We want to attract people dedicated to the mission of caring," says O'Rourke.
