Summary
In an interview, Tim Forristal, CICA's VP of education services, talked about the impact of International Financial Reporting Standards on the Uniform Evaluation (UFE) and university course in accounting. He said that competence in performance measurement and reporting on the UFE is and will continue to be based on generally accepted accounting principles. He encourages universities to make a conscious change to IFRS as the basis of their programming as soon as is practicable rather than the other way around.
