A brief history: Converse first hit the market in 1908 as an athletic shoe created by Marquis Mills Converse. But it was in 1917 that the Converse All Star first made its debute. One year later, budding basketball star [Chuck Taylor] laced up a pair for a high school game and the rest, as they say, is history.
