The Canadian Red Cross expects to raise $1 million for Myanmar and doesn't anticipate any problems raising funds for a Chinese relief effort, said Rob Wozny, a Winnipeg spokesman.Wozny said Manitobans have contributed over $11,500 through the Canadian Red Cross for Myanmar relief.
[Ping Chen] said she hasn't slept since her sister called Winnipeg from Shanghai to tell her the earthquake hit at 2 a.m. Monday. Since then, the sisters have worked the phone lines from opposite sides of the globe.
