Updated versions of Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants' (CICA's) Guide for the Auditor of a Candidate in a Federal Election, Pursuant to the Canada Elections Act and Guide for Auditors of Registered Associations Appointed under the Canada Elections Act are now available on CICA's Web site (www.cica.ca). Both guides focus on providing practical guidance to auditors, although they also provide relevant information for official/financial agents and federal election candidates or officials of electoral district associations, particularly regarding the duties and responsibilities of their auditor. The updated guides reflect changes brought about by the Federal Accountability Act, which came into effect on Jan 1, 2007.
