Summary
Leading the way for the Gophers was Grade 12 point guard Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson who set a Classic record for total points scored with 104 over three games, which broke former NBA player and Shaftesbury graduate Todd MacCullough's record of 96. Ogungbemi-Jackson also tied the tournament's single-game record of 43 points and could've had more had he not passed the ball off to Brayden Duff for his team's last bucket in the game's final minute.
"It's a great accomplishment but I'm just happy we got the win and that's all I'm going for. Of course I'm happy (with his individual performance) but most important for me is the win and that's what we got," said Ogungbemi-Jackson, also the repeat tournament MVP, noting his team lost to the Oak Park Raiders earlier this month in a Brandon tournament. "We wanted to win this tournament and that's what we came here to do. I just thought we had to come and play our best game defensively... and I think we did that pretty well."See the full content of this document
