"I prefer to return my own calls. It's my style and I'm well-known for it," said [Bill Clement], the only city councillor without some form of office help. "I don't like to talk about other people's assistants. Everybody has their own way of operating their offices. I just prefer to deal with people's concerns myself."

Bill Clement (Charleswood-Tuxedo) spent only $38,387.60 of his office allowance last year, which means he returned $31,612.40 to city coffers. Clement is the only councillor who did not employ an office assistant.
