FORMER Gov. Gen. and Manitoba premier Ed Schreyer says he would not want to be in current Gov. Gen. Michalle Jean's shoes right now but says the situation is not unprecedented, despite that word being tossed around repeatedly by the government.

"It's kind of a pressure cooker at the moment," said Schreyer. "But the constitutional framework is clear."

"I insisted on some time in the unlikely event there was an alternative," said Schreyer.
