Collings Receives Exemption, Keeps Busy

"It was a thing with Saskatchewan (their mid-amateur championship) and I've been defending that the last two years and it was a conflict on my schedule with the Classic," [Garth Collings] said. "It wouldn't be very nice to not go back and defend. This year I got a break; the Classic is the week after Saskatchewan, so I can do both."

"I'm looking forward to the MTS for sure," Collings said. "Pine Ridge is always a very good test. We'll go whack it around and hopefully play well."

The matches were tied after the first day's two draws of team competition, and Manitoba took yesterday's singles 5-3 on victories by Collings, [Scott Loewen], Peter More and Dave Michaleski and half points from [Scott Markham] and [Jesse Skelton].
