Summary


Despite rumours of slow ticket sales, the lack of a liquor licence and an ominously brisk wind, the Jamaica-born megastar's concert heated up hotter than the Caribbean last night at The Forks' Scotiabank Stage.

If there was one focus of the concert, it was the ladies. Not only was the show amped up by the presence of four tight-bodied female dancers, but [Sean Paul] himself seemed unable to discuss anything else. "You want it? You shouldn't fight for it," he said to two young women in the front row, shortly before breaking into The Trinity's Give It Up To Me. "I gotta lot of love to give."

Shortly after that, Montreal-based hip-hop breakout Carl Henry paved the way for Sean Paul with a brisk set that featured the talents of two dancers wearing shorts that looked suspiciously like underpants; but hey, pants are confining when the temperature's rising.
