"We were just about to think nothing could happen to help the small farmer -- (a new U.S.) farm deal helps the big corporations, but does nothing for the family farmers. When I realized the farmers could be growing our fuel, I thought, 'There's another way to keep them on the farm.' If they could grow the fuel and the food, then maybe we wouldn't have to go around the world starting wars," he says.

"Medicinal marijuana is legal in about 12 states or so and you guys are much more progressive up there (in Canada). I think there's a lot of responsible adults out there that think marijuana is a good medicine. I think responsible adults should have the right to put anything they want in their mouths. My friend said, 'It's my mouth, I'll haul coal in it if I want,' and I always liked that statement," [Willie Nelson] says.

Nelson just laughs when the subject of his wisdom is brought up and offers up this advice: "Those who know don't say, and those who say don't know. I like to shut up, but it's hard to do when you have a big mouth and you're full of bulls--t."
