CANADA'S run for the championship at the 2007 NORCECA Women's Continental Olympic volleyball qualification tournament came to a screeching halt Saturday when they lost to Cuba 3-0 (25-19, 25-9, 25-16) in the final at Monterrey, Mexico.

"They really had the upper hand and kept pushing us back and pushing us back," said left-side Tammy Mahon. "We tried to put it all out there, but it just wasn't there."

"Sure we are disappointed, but we gave it all we had, and there is nothing we can do about it now. They are a good team, and they will represent our zone very well at the Olympics."
