"The gap between cyclists and motorists seems to have widened this summer," said [Scot Millar]. "We want to be a mass but we don't want to be in people's faces."

"He's a little bit more on the 'in' than ([Donald Benham] and [Jenny Gerbasi]) -- they're not in [Sam Katz]'s camp -- but we're pleased they're there, too."

"I think we need to invest more in cycling infrastructure," said the Fort Rouge councillor. "I don't ride my bike to work. It's too dangerous in rush hour. I don't feel safe." She said the city scrapped a plan that would've made inroads for cyclists. "If we would've built the bus rapid transit system, there would've been a bike path from the University of Manitoba to downtown. It's incredible. We're so far behind."
