For students who already have additional, existing health insurance, they were able to opt out of the BUSU plan, if they desired, by Sept. 26 (three weeks into the term.) Information on the health plan, including opt-out information, was mailed to every student with their BU statement of account, included in multiple student e-mails, posters around campus, Facebook messages, in campus newspaper articles and prominently featured on the BUSU website.
