It's not clear if there is a solution for rude behaviour, particularly when it is often rewarded, but Ms. Glover's suggestion that Question Period be cancelled is not one of them. Question Period is a 45-minute opportunity for MPs to question the government and get information. It is frequently used to embarrass the government, but it's also a critical time when members of Parliament get to hold cabinet ministers accountable for their actions. Glover may not like the political theatre, but she should try to imagine how she might react if she were sitting in opposition.
