Summary


The government says it is "raising the level of service" to reporters by ensuring they reach the right people quickly and get accurate answers in the process, according to Gregory Jack, acting director of Environment Canada's ministerial and executive services. Mr. Jack said Treasury Board ordered all government departments six years ago to develop guidelines for providing information to media. The Environment branch is one of the last to comply, but its rules are no different than other departments, he said.
