The province's posted wait times measure the time it takes from when a patient is scheduled for surgery to the operation itself. The average across the specialties in Manitoba was 12 weeks, and eight of those passed in waits to see a specialist. In 2004, Manitoba's average was 7.8 weeks, but has been rising steadily since then.
