Summary
The [StatsCan] report indicated that because of high feed costs, many Canadian producers are exporting weanling pigs under 20 kilograms in weight to the United States rather than feeding them to full weight at home.
The number of weanlings were up 19.3 per cent in Manitoba and 4.7 per cent across Canada, while the numbers of larger market pigs fell by 13.6 and 7.4 per cent in Manitoba and Canada respectively.See the full content of this document
