Goldeyes infielder Scott Schade has been taking batting practice and fielding ground balls for the last couple of days and appears ready to return after an eight-week absence due to a broken right thumb. "I feel like I'm ready to go. (Goldeyes athletic therapist) Cam (McGhee) has done a great job getting me ready to go," said Schade. "I'm not sure when I'll be activated. You have to ask the boss man about that." Schade has played both first and third base as a professional and will likely step into one of those roles on Monday when the club opens a seven-game road trip in Kansas City. If Schade plays first, Kevin West will move over to third or stay put and Schade will take the defensive work at third base.
