Summary


There [Jim Flaherty] was on our TV sets Tuesday, amid a crush of reporters in Ottawa, flashing a cheesy/nervous/sheepish grin, essentially telling us: "Ha ha ha! Just kidding about that $34 billion. I may just be spitballing here, but let's try, maybe, $50 billion... for starters!"

These are just broad strokes, mind you. We'd still have to work out the details. Right now some of you are probably thinking: "Gee, [Doug], if your wife doesn't let the government spend ANY money, won't that hurt the economy?"

From what my wife tells me, her birthday pops up in every month with a "syllable" in it, and lasts for at least 30 days. ("Look, honey, we all chipped in and got you the Phoenix Coyotes!")
