So this winter, FNPP officials will be conducting a feasibility study and developing a "lighting and retail strategy" for breathing new life into the area. Once that's done, they'll present their ideas to the board of directors.

"I'd rather do it faster, but we'll have to see what the numbers are."

Redevelopment of the former Mitchell Copp Building on Portage Avenue: FNPP CEO [Jim August] said the "building-within-a-building" redevelopment concept, which would see a translucent "box" of space suspended above a basement restaurant, is generating considerable interest. "We're in discussions with a couple of potential tenants," he said. "It will be leased up. It's just a matter of time... and money."
