"I apologize. And I want the people to know I'm going to pay them back," Debra Loepp told court this week after admitting to 18 counts of fraud in a high-profile case that struck a nerve with citizens earlier this summer.
"For every warm heart and caring individual, there sometimes is a greedy hand outstretched," Crown attorney Russ Ridd told provincial court Judge Lynn Stannard. He was not seeking any additional jail time.Her co-accused -- whom [Gordon Sinclair] dubbed the "Con Don" -- remains before the courts on similar fraud charges.
