Go ahead and point fingers at the offensive play-calling, the injuries to the O-line and -- for the last game, at least -- to the receiving corps. You can wonder out loud whether [Doug Berry] has lost the team and about complacency having gripped this bunch since Day 1 of training camp -- they're all valid reasons as to why the Bombers couldn't win an intra-squad game lately. But, truthfully, it doesn't have to be that complicated, either. Wally Buono admitted as much a few weeks back before his squad rolled over the Bombers when he said he had a 'whole lot of good players on his squad not playing so good.' The next night stars like Geroy Simon, Jarious Jackson and Javy Glatt stood up big-time. Bottom line: We're seeing too many fundamental mistakes from the guys in Blue and Gold -- missed tackles, poor technique, dropped passes, bad reads, dumb penalties and enough brain farts to fill a season lowlight video. Most disturbing is this: it's not necessarily just the newcomers letting this team down -- guys like Romby Bryant, Jovon Johnson, Willie Amos, Joe Lobendahn, Pierre-Luc Labbe, Brendon LaBatte, etc. -- it's the established vets. Warning, gentlemen: no matter how much up-front money you got or the length of your contract, remember NFL cuts are looming. That means the market will soon be flooded with younger -- and cheaper -- talent. Loyalty is in short supply when a team is 1-6.
