"When she wanted to hide under the sheets and play with me, I knew she was going to be OK," said [KERRI STEELE], 25, growing misty-eyed Monday afternoon recounting [Katelynn Olfert]'s comeback over the last five weeks at Winnipeg's Children's Hospital

The bruise on Katelynn's cheek has faded since December, and the casts and bandages were starting to be removed yesterday. Her parents say Katelynn has learned to crawl by using one arm to pull her 28-pound body across the floor.

"Our whole world had just been turned upside down.... I just kept telling her, 'I'm so proud of you. I'm so proud of you.' She knows she has to rest a lot and her owies will get better," Steele said.
