Job offers outside Manitoba came fast and furious, but [Makoto Ono] remained at Gluttons until the fall, when he travelled to Hong Kong and spent a month mulling over an offer to serve as an executive chef in one of the world's hottest culinary markets, Beijing.

Bernie Verwey, who was manning the cash register early this week, claimed [Jameson Watermulder] left to pursue other projects. He said the restaurant side of Gluttons will reopen in three weeks with a renovated kitchen, new chef and a menu that incorporates some of Ono's ideas.

Pâtissier Chantalle Noschese, who served as Ono's sous chef at the Gold Metal Plates competition, is also leaving Gluttons for a job in Toronto.
