Goren Bridge

Summary

A - First, if you use splinter bids, by all means trot out your weapon and bid four clubs. If not, don't even think of jumping to three spades -- that is invitational, not forcing. Even four spades is inadequate with your monster. Make a temporizing jump shift to three diamonds and see if that excites your partner.

A - At this vulnerability partner should have a good hand and a good suit for his overcall, so your combined holding could reach to game. However, don't bid three diamonds -- partner might pass or, if he bids three hearts, you won't know whether he has extra values or just dislikes your suit. The only sensible course is to raise to three hearts.

A - This is a no-brainer. Partner's double of a freely bid slam request's the lead of dummy's suit even if partner has bid a suit -- if he wants his suit led, he should pass. Lead the two of spades to show you have either three or four cards in the suit.
