When the ace of diamonds held the first trick, West shifted to a club, but it was too late. [Eric Rodwell] won with the ace, drew two rounds of trumps and led a spade toward dummy. West inserted the queen and declarer won with ace and continued with two spade ruffs in hand and two diamonds ruffs in dummy, dropping the king of diamonds. The jack of spades was covered by the king and ruffed, dummy's remaining club was discarded on the queen of diamonds and declarer claimed 12 tricks.
