Keewatin/Inkster Neighbourhood Resource Council Inc. with support of New Horizons for Seniors is offering a new program for seniors living in the Inkster community. The K-I-N-Nector, a shopping shuttle for community seniors will operate the last Friday of each month to Polo Park. Pick up at Fred Douglas Apts., 1300 Aberdeen; Willow Centre, 61 Tyndall; Brooklands Seniors Centre, 1960 William and Bluebird Lodge, 97 Keewatin. Kirkfield Streamliners light resistance & strength exercise customized for seniors of all ability and mobility levels from certified seniors specialist. Short, casual weight-loss program and social time follows, at non-profit group. Exercise participation is entirely optional, and low token one-time fee is halved for seniors! The role of caregiving often takes a high toll on the emotional, physical and financial well being of the caregiver. You are invited to join a support group for caregivers. The Support Group is designed to give you, the caregiver, an opportunity to openly discuss feelings, experiences and fears in a non-judgmental and supportive atmosphere. The group will provide emotional support and also to assist with day-to-day practical issues. This is done by meeting with others who are in similar situations and who understand the challenges and are willing to share information, concerns and resources.
