"To date, 10 per cent Canada's territory -- an area larger than France and Germany combined -- and three million hectares of ocean are protected by federal, provincial and territorial governments."

"Clearly this goverment's approach to dealing with climate change is totally inadequate and in fact it falls far short from what countries around the world are doing," said Emilie Moorhouse.

"I think the Europeans are well aware of the approach that this government has taken. A lot of them expressed huge disappointment when Mr. [Stephen Harper] announced that Canada was abandoning its Kyoto targets."
