It should be pointed out that the premier has clearly taken this idea from the 2007 playbook of the PC Party of Manitoba, and good for him (this was before any plans for the new Winnipeg stadium, I might add). I recall that in the 2007 provincial election that a proposal was suggested by Tory Leader Hugh McFadyen to improve the area. One can only hope that Mr. [Gary Doer] has finally realized that no single political party or politician has a monopoly on good ideas and he is branching out in search of policy that can help all Manitobans.

I am curious about one thing, however. The plans by McFadyen in 2007 really upset Point Douglas community activist Sel Burrows for some odd reason, yet today everything is fantastic (McFadyen's plan raises ire of Point Douglas resident, May 20, 2007). I am wondering why his stance is different today, or is it because it is not election time and the political rhetoric is not needed. Perhaps Burrows can call Hugh McFadyen and thank him for coming up with the idea way back in 2007.

In your article Conservation officers watch for wolves (July 15) regarding a wolf attack at Falcon Lake, you quote a wildlife biologist as saying, "Wolves traditionally just don't pray on people..." Do they pray before devouring other prey or just forgo the grace when they prey on people?
