WINNIPEG defence lawyer Ian Garber was supposed to be listening to one of his best friends answer the question "Do you take this woman" with a resounding "I do!" on Saturday afternoon.

[Ian Grant] was repeatedly caught on audio surveillance threatening violence against Franco Atanasovic, the former career criminal turned police agent who was paid $525,000 to work undercover during a year-long "sting" operation.

Grant took it upon himself to try and collect an old $60,000 drug debt from Atanasovic and lost his cool when the money wasn't coming in fast enough. Atanasovic eventually bought Grant a Harley Davidson motorcycle with funds supplied by police to ease the pressure.
