When we started out, I had recently retired the quill pen in favour of an IBM Selectric typewriter, and we faxed each finished column over to the Free Press office. They retyped it, often with hilarious results.
Eventually, we moved on to computer, initially sending a disc by courier. (But the Pony Express horses got too tired, so we started to email it.) Soon I will be typing these words right into the newspaper electronically and, soon thereafter I fear, sending them telepathically to a hologram on the windshield of whatever conveyance you are piloting at that time.That brings us to the next phase: being able to post your comments and questions directly to my new online blog. We launched a new website this week, www.davidchristianson.com. Please give it a look.
