Summary
[Joanna Murray-Smith]'s [George] character was nowhere near as strong as the women, especially Honor and [Claudia]. The latter chided the former about her career self-sacrifice. "These days we have an awareness of what we give up," says Claudia. "You mean a resentment," replies Honor." It is gripping to watch the wronged wife and malevolent mistress sparring across a generational gulf of mutual incomprehension and suspicion.
Honour arrives at PTE from Victoria's Belfry Theatre, where it has been honed into a polished piece of theatre by director Brian Richmond. The acting is very impressive, especially the trio of actresses. As the title implies, it is Honor's play, and [Elizabeth Shepherd] maintains her character's dignity despite the pain of having her heart mugged.
