City to host upcoming ecotourism conference.

An upcoming conference is expected to further establish Sudbury and Northern Ontario as destinations for ecotourism and ecoadventure tourism, city officials say.

Eco-North 2002 Eco-Nord, a three-day ecotourism conference and the first Canadian event for the United Nations International Year of Ecotourism, will be held in Sudbury from Feb. 6 to 10. The conference will create a venue for individuals and organizations from across the north to explore tourism possibilities and to discuss opportunities, showcase regional how this sector can develop.
