Summary

The cash was announced at a ceremony marking World AIDS Day at the Manitoba legislature, where Healthy Living Minister Kerri Irvin-Ross surprised the crowd of activists with news the province would cover four new HIV/AIDS treatment drugs.

"The girl panicked... she ran but then ran back. The boy didn't know what to do," he said. "They both ended up getting hit."

The accident was only discovered when RCMP officers from the Fisher Branch detachment were responding to an unrelated call at 3:30 a.m. and found the woman's vehicle overturned on the Jackhead Road, near the Fisher River First Nation.
