Though he hasn't heard anything about specific government announcements, Brandon Mayor Dave Burgess says the city is champing at the bit to get work started on however many of the projects on its infrastructure wish list the federal government believes is worthy of funding. Phase 3 upgrades for the city's industrial wastewater treatment plant; Downtown YMCA aquatics facility; Instrument landing system (ILS) for the municipal airport; Construction of a downtown skateboard plaza; Upgrades to the Westman Centennial Auditorium; Improving the city's computer connectivity network; Upgrades and improvements to the Third Street dam; A control system for city's water and wastewater facilities; Baffling for the water treatment facility; An alternate power supply for the city's water and sewer systems.
