[Karl Goehring], the team's loyal third goalie since the arrival of Curtis Sanford in January, was by his own choice allowed to move to San Antonio on Wednesday in exchange for forward Derek Nesbitt, an undrafted 26-year-old who's a product of the U.S. college system and hasn't yet played a full-time season at the AHL level.
Nobody's saying Nesbitt's a figurative bag of pucks, since he did score 17 goals in 46 games in a part-time role in Rockford last season, but the forward position was not the team's greatest need and Moose goaltending depth is now weaker. In fact, given that Nesbitt's got six goals in San Antonio this season, it's difficult at this point to see where he's a stronger player than just about any other Moose forward, leaving him a definite candidate to show up on Manitoba's reserve list when rosters are released later today.Injury-Depleted Moose Can't Find Blue-Line Help
