Summary


Due to this different nature of playoff football, the fact that we are playing a better team this week is actually not necessarily the most impacting detail of our matchup at the Rogers Centre. As some of us have come to learn -- with a first playoff win last weekend -- the teams you thought you knew in the regular season are not necessarily the teams you end up facing in the post-season. The urgency and finality of the moment transforms game plans, players, and above all else, the environments the game is played in. We are not the same team in the post-season when pushed to the brink of elimination, and neither is our opponent. As any veteran will attest: pre-season football is one speed, regular-season speed is a couple notches above that, and the East final -- one game away from the Grey Cup -- is the equivalent of Wile. E. Coyote strapped to an ACME rocket.
