"When they first approached me in the late 1990s about being the national women's coach, I wasn't sure if I was interested," Miki said at the 2008 women's world championships. "I wasn't certain how much time I could afford away from my regular job, but my employer has been great. I decided to go to Japan and talk to them and, eight years later, I'm still working with the girls."
