A Sault Ste. Marie law firm and one of its partners are suing the Elliot Lake and North Shore Business Development Corp. (ELNOS) for $5 million alleging libel and slander.

The firm is also taking all of the directors of ELNOS, corporate counsel, the chief operating officer and the business development officer to court. Wishart and Partners and lawyer Gerald Nori are suing after a $70,000 suit ELNOS filed against them last month.

Last year, Nori represented Kim and Jackie Sartor and their Angel Lake software company in creation of a new software company with an American firm. ELNOS was a part of that deal. ELNOS sued Wishart and Nori saying it wanted a refund because it questioned which of the two parties (Angel Lake or the Sartor sisters) Wishart represented during the negotiations.
