[Diana Ross] set the tone for the show right off the top, singing I'm Coming Out backstage before emerging on a staircase that split the stage wearing a slinky sparkling red dress and huge ruffled shawl. It the first of four outrageously over-the-top, and always fabulous, sequined outfits she wore during the too short-80-minute concert. Her band -- two percussionist, a guitarist, bassist and pianist -- and two backup vocalists entertained the audience while Ross changed into various glittery tight-fitting dresses that highlighted her still-amazing figure.

She kept the energy level high with the funky R&B of Ease On Down the Road from The Wiz, then showed off her jazz side with breathy versions of the Billie Holiday chestnuts Fine and Mellow and Don't Explain before her version of the deliriously upbeat Frankie Lymon song Why Do Fools Fall in Love?
