In another amusing blunder, the author asserts that carbon dating is an inaccurate method for determining the age of fossils. Unlike creationism, however, I.D. concedes that Darwinian evolution can occur over a short term - hence the increasing resistance of bacteria to antibiotics and the case of the peppered moth adapting to its increasingly sooty environment by darkening in colouration over the course of generations and thus maintaining its camouflage against the increasingly darkened bark of trees.
