Summary


My newspaper is called Urban NDN and it will launch in June -- and without getting all self-promotional on you I'll just say it's unlike any other aboriginal newspaper out there. We'll redefine what it means to be aboriginal.

It's taken more than five years, but I'm a publisher now -- with a staff of three. We're all still in that honeymoon stage, but deadlines are beginning to loom. Work is all about thinking, problem-solving, juggling, planning, caffeine, meetings and more thinking. Whew!

We've got a little storefront office on Selkirk Avenue. It's like that dream all over again, except I wake up to it every day. I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be. I've met my neighbours, both business owners and residents. We are an eclectic bunch.
