The Brandon Transit Union Employees union has decided to go on strike next Monday after talks between the city and the union held at the Canadian Inn this morning failed to break the deadlock over wages. The federal government has unveiled plans to tighten controls over a prescription painkiller used in a mixture known as poor-man's heroin, but has stopped short of banning the drug, Health Minister Jake Epp said.
