The very next day, I attended another mayoral forum at the Fort Garry Hotel -- this one hosted by the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, the Winnipeg Real Estate Board and the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association. Luckily, [Sam Katz]'s schedule allowed him to participate, and the audience got to sit back and compare all four candidates in action. It's about time.
By repeatedly highlighting their many years in business and politics at the chamber's event -- a veritable sea of power suits -- Katz and [Marianne Cerilli] took subtle shots at 32-year-old [Kaj Hasselriis], implying he's far too inexperienced to be a good mayor. I found it telling. To them, youth and inexperience are liabilities, whereas I kind of like Hasselriis for exactly the same reasons.
