Darley Ferry, 38, started spinning his wheels shortly after Customs officials began quizzing him about his high-powered purchase made in the United States in July 2006, a Winnipeg court heard Monday.
Ferry initially claimed that was just the original price, but a "major mechanical fault" had caused it to be reduced.
