For the past month (I know it's October) I've felt like a kid who didn't do her homework, keeping my head down in chemistry class, hoping Mr. [Walker] won't notice me.
You know that voice in your head that talks you out of good ideas? The one that says, "It probably wouldn't work. Don't even bother trying. You'll just embarrass yourself." That voice has been working overtime as I've been resting.That darned inner voice can be pretty convincing. And it's been around for a long time, putting me down and holding me back. I thought I'd gotten past it. I thought I'd learned to recognize when I was being mean to myself, and to tell the voice to stop.
