Manitoba Home Builders Get Top Marks for Energy Efficiency

Summary


These findings are not news to the savvy Manitoba new home buyer. Once again, the Canadian Energy Efficiency Alliance has given top marks to Manitoba new home builders as the best in the country and an example for other jurisdictions to follow.

Even though the number of households in Manitoba increased by 13.2 per cent since 1990 and the average floor area in new homes has increased by 15.9 per cent, the total amount of energy consumed by Manitoba households was 11.2 per cent less in 2005 than in 1990.
